The first amendment in the constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, OR OF THE PRESS; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." 

Our source of news has become a competition of who can achieve the highest ratings. Our news outlets have adapted to what brings in more viewers and the purpose of the first amendment has been stretched past our relevant "need to know" curiosities. Instead of focusing on the realism of the situation, it is sometimes blown far away from the actual issue; which in turn, destroys and divides our nation. Even if it is something you disagree with, such as racism. Should it be the job of our news providers to exploit or twist something that wasn't meant to cause chaos into something that gives them higher ratings because they know it is a sensitive subject to our country? I know it is impossible to go against or change our founding constitution, but I am petitioning for a reset or change it how the news reports its materials. Fact checks or even accountability to each story from someone who is not politically involved could remove the one sided corruption that we see on the news each day. We need an organization that takes an oath to uphold righteousness and oversees news productions to help build our country back as a whole and not be divided anymore.

I am just some guy that works a normal job. Change has to start somewhere. Sign my petition and help rebuild the greatest country in the world by changing the way we receive our news.
