The government is not protecting the Great Hammerhead Sharks. As a result, they are going extinct. The government has resisted making laws against fishing or killing the hammerheads so they don't go extinct! Fishermen are cutting the fins off of hammerheads and throwing them back in to slowly bleed to death or die from hunger. Boaters are polluting which hurts the sharks. This needs to stop! We can't have this population dying out from some careless fishermen. People kill over 100 million sharks a year. An average of 1 to 2 sharks are killed very second. Approximately 11,500 sharks are killed each hour and an average of 200 are killed in 1 minute!
