Approve a CRUELTY FREE DECORATED room in the WHITE HOUSE
This petition had 1,866 supporters
Every year more than 1 billion animals are killed for their leather and for the home goods industries. THIS MUST STOP!
Please join me in asking our future president to have a room designed in the White House without décor created from of any living creature. We are asking on behalf of those who have no voice.
Be a part of making history! This is the first petition ever that is seeking to have a cruelty free room in the White House. It will be decorated entirely with materials that are free of skins, hides, fur, feathers and any other animal products.
Each time a new president moves into the White House, Congress appropriates funds to have certain rooms redecorated. This opportunity comes, at most, only once every four years. It is a short window to make change. A humane room in the White House would make a tremendous statement to the world that America supports the welfare of animals. It would set an example for others to follow. It would educate the world on the many faux leather, suede, wool and down alternative options that are beautiful enough for the White House and are ethical.
“Each one of us can make a difference. Together we can make change”
Many of us believe that the leather used to make furniture is a byproduct of the meat industry; that the cows, calves, horses, goats, pigs or sheep whose skin is used for sofas, chairs and accessories have been killed for other purposes. But that isn’t true. These animals are killed exclusively for their skins!
BE A PART OF HISTORY! Sign this petition for a Cruelty Free room in the White House.
