Family comes first and pets are family. For anyone who truly loves their dog, cat, or any other companion; losing them can be just as hurtful as losing a child or a sibling.

Pet owners should have no fear of being criminally prosecuted or being stripped of their rights for using deadly force to protect their companions from being unprovokedly and/or unjustly harmed or killed by a hostile individual.

No pet owner should be forced to helplessly watch a hostile individual senselessly harm or kill their beloved animal before their eyes. We as society have a duty to stifle any officer of the law or district attorney who would enforce Life Over Property statutes against pet owners for using deadly force to protect their family member from hostile individuals.

Obviously, clear exceptions regarding animal attacks and accidents should be made. Also, this use of lethal force should be encouraged as a last resort and preventative measure.
