Urge Hamza Yusuf to apologize to the Syrian People & the Muslim Community!
The Issue
The Muslim Community has had enough with Hamza Yusuf. Not only has he turned his back on Muslims, he's paved the way for racist and violent regimes across the world to continue their oppression against innocent civilians. Sign this petition to tell the world that Hamza Yusuf does not represent Islam nor the Muslim American Community. He must apologize immediately for his reckless behavior and take his own advice in seeking seclusion and self reflection.
Here are only a few grievances to consider with many more unmentioned...
1. Against the advice of many prominent Muslim Scholars and political activists, Hamza Yusuf became a supporter and mouthpiece to the Trump Administration, effectively justifying any misdeeds
2. Hamza Yusuf was appointed to the Commission on Unalienable Rights to supposedly streer the commission in a more righteous direction. Instead he's voiced his support to violent and racist regimes that are frequent violaters of Human Rights around the world.
3. He has urged the Muslim Community repeatedly not to support the Black Lives Matter movement
4. To add to the misery of innocent Syrian civilians who took to the streets to better their conditions against Bashar Al-Assad's violent and sadistic regime, he essentially stomps on the bodies of their martyrs and in an instant belittles the voices of every oppressed person around the world. The video of his comments making fun of the Syrian people was taken down immediately, but the damage has already been done. Maybe our forefathers should have stayed in Great Britian and not fought for their rights. Maybe South Africans should have quelled their silly grievances with the British. Maybe Mohammad pbuh should have stayed put in Makkah and let corruption spread.
Hamza Yusuf does NOT represent Islam or Muslims and needs to apologize immediately to the Syrian People and the Muslim Ummah (Community). Allah says in the Qur'an:
"Be maintainers of justice and bearers of true witness for Allah, even if it goes against your own selves or parents or relatives or someone who is rich or poor."
