Birds have been protected for a century because of the Wild Bird Protection Act. Trump is planning to scale back the restrictions on this act. This could lead to billions of birds dying as a result. As fellow  Americans we need to stand up for the protection of birds, any animal really and put a stop to these animals’ decline. Without the Wild Bird Protection Act, billions of birds will die over the next few decades. Some vulnerable bird species could decline to the point where they need to be protected under the Endangered Species Act. Accidental bird deaths caused by industry will no longer be a potential criminal violation under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The Industry kills about 450 million to 1.1 billion birds each year according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. We need to stop Trump from lifting restrictions on the Wild Bird Protection Act so that birds can continue to thrive for generations to come.
