The U.S state department, provides bomb sniffing dogs to foreign nations-- mostly Arab countries-- as gifts. The program, called EDCP,  is tax payer funded.  Once the state department gives the American trained--bomb sniffing dogs-- to these foreign countries, it does not follow up on their care and well being. Recently, the government's negligence became public--after an investigation was launched--by a watchdog group. The report is published, online at:

The  findings are horrifying and show a plethora of dogs, suffering from canine diseases, living in squalor and malnourished.  In Jordan alone, the report states  that sub-standard police k-9 facilities--are neglected and dirty--a direct  contributor to the spread of Parvo within the facility. This is the primary source of death, of most of these K-9 police dogs. In other Jordanian k-9 police facilities, dogs were found to be over worked  while searching multiple vehicles, without sufficient shelter. This led to their deaths, from heat exhaustion. 

We as Americans, are a great dog loving nation. It would be unfathomable--to  deny--now that there is a report, that these horrors are  happening. We can not contribute, to the proliferation of their misery,  through our tax dollars.  Please join me in advocating, for their protection and well being by signing this petition.
