Stop Puppy Mills

The Issue

Puppy mills in America produce more than two million dogs. Nearly 4 million dogs enter shelters every year and over 1.2 million dogs are euthanized every year. With so many purebred dogs available from puppy mills it’s hard to find people to adopt from animal shelters.

The problems don’t just start and stop with the numbers of dogs coming in and and out of shelters and puppy mills. Another problem is the condition the poor animals are kept in. Often times in cages stacked one on top of the other with a male and female. Kept in an area with no heating or cooling systems. Never well fed in some cases the animals can die due to being malnourished. These animals can also be abused. They can have their puppies taken away from them much too early. Which can cause problems with the puppies.

After all of this has happened continuously when the parents can no longer perform the duties inhumanly forced upon them. The animals will be killed or let free somewhere far away. But these are no kind killings unlike most dogs when they are put to sleep they are given a shot and it’s over. These killings can oftentimes be drownings of the animal or the animal may just be shot. When the animals are let loose they will mostly end up very sick and sometimes can end up dead as well.

Puppy Mills need to be stopped and the change starts now. Adopt don’t shop.
