As American citizens, we need to take a stand for our police, who serve and protect our communities every day. I have been able to live the majority of my life free of fear in the community I live in, free from a mob-rule mentality, free to focus on pursuing my happiness, free to enjoy liberty, free to live my life without the need to pick up a gun to defend my security every day. I have had my freedom protected by men in blue uniforms from those who would take my freedom away by force for their own criminal purposes. It is the same for all of you, who are upstanding citizens, no matter the color of your skin.

What stands between every American citizen out on the street going about their business every day and the criminals who would be out there every day trying to do harm, are the police, the majority of who are waking up every day and going out to serve and protect their communities, for their loved ones, their family and friends, and every other upstanding citizen. The majority of police officers put every one of our needs above their own. The majority of police officers do other services for their communities, voluntarily, as well. The majority of police officers try to help young people who are going astray, before their lives are ruined. The majority of police officers act as emergency medical technicians, serving a double duty, until the Emergency Response Team arrives. The majority of police officers serve as counselors, as well, helping us to cope when we are traumatized. They do this on days that they are wearing their uniform, or on days that they have been given off. Whenever the need arises, almost every police officer puts their life on the line to protect us, no matter what day it is, or what their plans are.
