Revoke ICE’s rule forcing International Students for inperson classes during pandemic

The Issue

On July 6,2020. The U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a new policy to modify the current Student and Exchange Visitor Program(SEVP),  the name of this is: "SEVP modifies temporary exemptions for nonimmigrant students taking online courses during fall 2020 semester"

The goal of this new policy is to force all the international students in the United States to take in-person courses for the Fall 2020 semester to maintain their Visa Status whether or not they are currently in the United States or their home country. This new policy will create significant difficulties for the International Students to continue their study in the American colleges and institutions. It can create huge risk to their health because of the intercontinental traveling and other related issues. This policy will greatly harm the rights of international students in the United States not only in health, but also their Universal Human Rights in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This policy is not just going to put the international students at risk, but also the faculty and staff that needs to be present in-person at schools and make sure it functions.

We request the ICE to revoke this new policy to protect the rights of the International Students to show their recognition to the American spirit and human rights. Most of the international students are innocent and they deserve a chance to study without the risk of virus infection.
