While President Biden should be commended for exercising his constitutional authority to issue a proclamation to pardon (only) the offenses for simple possession of marijuana, we are truly demoralized that such action does not provide any relief whatsoever to the cannabis prisoners like Edwin Rubis who are still serving grotesquely harsh life sentences due to the war on drugs.
