I desire change in regards to ending the separation and mistreatment of immigrant families. America's cruel and hypocritical actions against people of other nationalities, in particular latino communities is horrific. I have witnessed first hand the motivation and struggles immigrants face and it is not only inspiring but heart breaking. My uncle migrated from El Salvador in search of peace and escape, through his hard work he became a legal citizen, learned English, built his own successful company, and raised a family. Yet, not all immigrants are this fortunate, some are captured, imprisoned, caged, separated from their loved ones, or end up being sex trafficked. The land that so long ago was forcfully stolen from Native Americans and claims "liberty and justice for all" cages children and separates families seeking refuge. Through a change of mindset we, American citizens can allow other humans to better their lives. With a reduced amount of discrimination, hate, and selfishness our world can grow as a whole. I seek a world where we will no longer determine eachothers worth based on what country we were born in, but on the fact that we are all one race, humans, and no human being is illegal.
