My uncle was an activist. A criminal justice student. A son. A brother. A father. A cousin. TIMOTHY THOMAS was MURDERED at RMC Lake Butler, FL by correctional guards. He was ONLY transferred there to seek medical attention for his torn achilles tendon. Within a week span my uncle was murdered. The morning of March 30, 2018, my uncle explained to the guards he was fasting and did not want to attend breakfast (due to religious beliefs and Easter being on Sunday). The guards pulled him out of line up for wearing his religious cap. He was cuffed and transferred to close management where he was stripped of his belongings, OC sprayed (pepper spray), and beaten SEVERALLY! He had multiple broken ribs and along with the OC spray he COULD NOT BREATHE! He SHOUTED to the guards for help, but was left without being checked on or for medical treatment. April 1, 2018, RMC Lake Butler, FL calls to tell us he died BUT gave a false cause of death. My family was then told days later his death was ruled as a HOMICIDE. The prison is trying to cover up his death by saying he was in an altercation with another inmate. In the autopsy report chemical agents, bruises, lacerations, and swelling of the brain show that he was murdered. It has been TWO years too long! Now and FOREVER is the time to fight for injustice and prison reform!
