Currently, availability of ventilators in the United States does not match the need.  The Coronavirus, COVID-19, is infecting a far greater number of people in more densely populated areas, such as New York, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta.  New York State, for example, only has enough ventilators to treat the number of patients in need for six (6) more days.  Currently, hospitals and emergency services are forming policies for who will be given ventilators and who will not when the number of ventilators available is depleted.

This presents an opportunity for President Trump to have a major victory in the war on the COVID-19 virus.  A National Ventilator Lending System will save the lives of thousands of loved ones across the nation.

We petition President Donald J. Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, the Coronavirus Task Force and Congress to work with the 50 states, the Governors and their hospitals to develop a ventilator lending system which would shift underutilized ventilators to locations which have an urgent need for additional ventilators to save lives which will be needlessly lost without ventilators.  Ventilators will move around the United States to the locations in need as COVID-19 infections become emergent across the United States.  The logistics of inventory and transport could be supervised by the U.S. military departments.
