You know who never has pay issues. Halliburton, Boeing, GE, GM, Pratt and Whitney, Northrup Gruman, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Blackwater. There is never a scandal of them not getting paid. 

Yet our active duty, guard, and reserve soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines and veterans constantly are not getting what the government promised. 

Why is that? 

Well, all contractors to the US Government get paid interest if they receive a late payment. Their payment terms are typically Net 30. Meaning the government has 30 days to pay up or incur interest penalties. 

My proposal is simple. Treat the military and veterans the same as government contractors. Either end the interest payments to contractors or add them to the military and veterans. This will permanently end any and all pay issues. It is no accident these issues are occurring. By not paying interest there is actually an economic incentive to make sure these payments are not being made in a timely fashion. If this happens to Halliburton you know that it would be fixed immediately. End this nonsense once and for all.
