In 2003, at the age of 29, I was indicted with 19 others in a federal drug conspiracy. I proceeded to trial, and after being found guilty, was sentenced to 400 months imprisonment. This was my first conviction.  I am scheduled to be released from federal custody in 2032. However, on September 30, 2020, I walked out of federal prison after serving 17 years, 4 months and 15 days. This was due to the President Trump's signing of the CARES ACT in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. I am currently on Home Confinement, which seems to be until 2032.

When I was sentenced in 2003, the federal sentencing guidelines were mandatory, and the crack/powder disparity was 100:1. Over the years, the guidelines were made to be advisory and the crack/powder disparity was reduced to 18:1. Unfortunately, none of these changes have benefitted me. I in no way am saying I am not guilty, nor am I saying I am a victim. I am simply asking for clemency from the President so that I will be able to move on with my life.  Clemency in my case would allow me to do just that, and it would allow me to become a productive member of society. I have a support system that includes my family, friends and a host of other relatives. I am simply asking for another chance at life.
