Ever since the Emancipation Proclamation was passed, blacks in America have been and still are considered American citizens. So this is more than just a race issue, this is an American issue.

Furthermore, the Ku Klux Klan has since opened its doors to people of all races much like the terrorists group known as Isis. So again, I reiterate, this is not just a race issue, this is an American issue.

The Ku Klux Klan has a long-standing history of terrorism against the American public. In fact, the FBI website has a 5-page analysis of the Ku Klux Klan and their history of terrorism against American citizens as well as knowledge that the Klan and similar terrorist groups have successfully infiltrated law enforcement and have been doing so for years. Everything from physical acts of violence against individuals to defamation and destruction of public and private property of American citizens.

The Ku Klux Klan is the ONLY organization that has a documented history of terrorizing Americans, destroying American's property, burning American churches, burning Americans alive, hanging Americans, and murder of Americans. They are the ONLY organization allowed to march through communities with masks on their face and weapons in their hands spreading and propagating hate towards Americans. They are the oldest organization of their kind here in America and have since inspired numerous other organizations that follow in their footsteps. Sounds like Isis, but no, it's the Ku Klux Klan; a home grown terrorist organization that is actively recruiting misguided individuals as we speak.

Since 1921, the Ku Klux Klan has hidden under the guise of "Freedom of Speech" and the "right to publicly assemble". However we do not extend these rights to terrorist groups. Never in a million years would American citizens allow Isis, Al Quida, or The Taliban to publicly assemble and spread their message of hate and terror. It is time for the American people and American politicians  to take a stand and say "enough is enough".

This petition is NOT about any one particular event. This petition is about a history of terrorism that has been carried out by the Ku Klux Klan as well as those influenced by the Ku Klux Klan that has infiltrated ALL areas of society, including law enforcement, for far too long.  The problem is that currently the FBI only lists the Ku Klux Klan as an "extremist group" or a "hate group". That simply is NOT good enough America. How can we pursue terrorism across the globe when we have a long-standing terrorist group in our country that has lived under the protection of the Constitution since 1921?

The 4th of July just passed, a time when America celebrates its freedom. But how can we celebrate freedom and harbor terrorist at the same time? Terrorist who hide their face in sheets and infiltrate our society on every level? America cannot take pride in that. So something must be done. The Obama administration has long prided itself on "Change" and many things have changed under the watch of this administration. As this presidential term comes to a close and as one of your final acts of service to the American people.

We demand that the Ku Klux Klan be labeled and listed as an official terrorist group and that anyone who associates, promotes, or supports the Ku Klux Klan in any way be treated as an act of terrorism against the American people and be subject to prosecution under the law. It is 2020, not 1921. It is time for change and this is long overdue.

The names on this petition are the names and voices of America speaking. Put a stop to this terrorist group so they can be weeded out of society and law enforcement and no longer terrorize the American people and spread their message and influence of terror under the protection of the U.S. constitution. The people have spoken. Now we need to know if our President and our congress stand with the people. We await the signatures of every American politician as well as legislation that would allow prosecution under law of any individuals in law enforcement who are affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan and other similar organizations.

The Ku Klux Klan have long been a terror to our nation and a stain to our history. It's time we rid ourselves of them and wash that stain away. Stand with us and sign the petition. Sincerely,  the American People
