Build the pumps for the Yazoo Backwater Project to prevent flooding in Mississippi

The Issue

In 2008, the federal government vetoed a bill that would have finished the pumping plant for the Yazoo Backwater Project. The result is the flood of 2019. More than 500,000 acres of land are underwater, and more than 250,000 of that is farm land. With enough public interest in the uncompleted project, the government could finish the project and protect the people of the state we call home.
