State support for SE AK Subsistence Hunters traveling through Canada to Interior AK.

The Issue

In Southeast Alaska we rely on overland access to the rest of the state via Canada. Hunters in Southeast Alaska rely on subsistence opportunities in the interior to sustain them through the winter and feed their families. Currently Hunting is considered a "non-essential" activity and hunters will be denied access to pass through Canada even if abiding by strict isolation precautions. Subsistence hunting is essential for economic, geographic, and cultural reasons. Please help our families and communities navigate these difficult times and support respectful and safe cross border travel for the purpose of subsistence hunting.
