We, the undersigned, oppose the use of taxpayer money for the acquisition and restoration of the Bishop Road steel truss bridge spanning the Yellow Breeches Creek between Cumberland and York Counties. While we acknowledge the historical significance of the bridge, which was constructed in 1898 and represents the last chapter in the history of the Wrought Iron Bridge Company, we believe that saving an old bridge solely for its age does not demonstrate good fiscal stewardship by the board of commissioners.

We urge Upper Allen Township to consider the financial impact on taxpayers and prioritize projects that provide clear, practical benefits to the community. We believe that the funds allocated for the restoration of the bridge could be better utilized for other essential services and infrastructure improvements.

If you agree with our stance and want to encourage responsible use of taxpayer money, please sign this petition to express your opposition to the proposed project.
