Petition update

Are you affected by the National Living Wage? Take action.

May 3, 2016 — Hi,

Let me start this by saying a massive thank you to everyone that has supported my petition on the national living wage. All 140k people that have signed my petition have created change in the business I work in, a change that will ensure people that work in B&Q will not feel the negative affects of the national living wage for an additional year. I don’t feel that this is enough and I will continue to fight for a better resolution for the hard working, loyal and knowledgeable people that work within B&Q.

The last few weeks have taught me a lot and tested my resolve on more than one occasion. I wouldn’t change what I have done one bit, I am proud that I stood up and made public my feelings. I never expected the support and publicity my petition created.

I want to ask everyone out there that has been negatively affected, or knows someone that has been negatively affected by the national living wage to do what I have done and start a petition.

I know how difficult it is to stand up against the business you work for. The hardest part is taking the first step. But if we work together we can support each other. By naming and shaming you will give the power back to the staff and make a real difference for workers in your business.

‘If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything’.

Thanks again,
