Don't Torch Tasmania's Forests for Power

Don't Torch Tasmania's Forests for Power
The issue
We thought a plan to log in World Heritage listed rainforest was as bad as it could get. But now the Tasmanian Government is trying to kick-start a native forest biomass industry – burning world renowned, high conservation value forests for electricity, as if it was ‘waste’.
Tasmania already has a surplus of electricity. But that hasn’t stopped Resource Minister Paul Harriss, a self-proclaimed friend of the biomass industry. He has just announced that the government is considering a biomass development proposal for southern Tasmania.
They will make a decision within 6 months about whether to press the go button on a project that makes no moral or economic sense. Can you tell the Tasmanian Government that you won’t let some of the most ancient forests left on earth be burnt like rubbish? If we work together, we can stop this biomass threat and protect the homes of precious endangered wildlife.
