With most people back from their Summer break, I am putting the call out again to please, please think about just one or two people you know that you could contact and encourage to sign the petition. We need to get a real wave of signatures to keep the pressure up on the Government. Our next target has to be 100,000 signatures. Please do not throw this update into your deleted files, please think about the difference we, and especially you, can make. But we can only make that difference if we maintain the pressure and keep the Government's attention. We will not allow them to ignore us. We are making progress and we will win. We need those signatures. Over the Christmas break, we have heard from the Government of their intent to send more troops and equipment to the participate in the Syrian conflict. Tony Abbott made his trip to the troops in the conflict zone just prior to Christmas and extolled their professionalism and dedication. He publically sung their [praises and the importance of what they are doing. But he is unable to match his words with any real action to support our ADF. They have no issue finding hundreds of millions of dollars to fund these activities, but maintain they cannot find an additional $50M to give our ADF a pay rise equal to CPI. We have a new Minister for Defence (Kevin Andrews). Through this petition we can ensure that he is fully aware of the feelings of the people of Australia and that he should not make the mistake of his predecessor and ignore us.
