Suffolk Park community land not for NSW Government profit.
We the Community of Suffolk Park, NSW 2481 request that the NSW State Government withdraw from sale its listing of Lot 60, Beech Drive, due for Auction on Tuesday, 29th November. If sold we will lose our Community Gardens, the home of Suffolk Park Football Club and other social groups: the only multi-use, open space for 4,000 Suffolk Park Residents.
It is the only open play area for the children of Suffolk Park and the only area for outdoor exercise, training, dog walking.
- Minister for Finance, Services and Property
- Minister for Planning
- Minister for Education
The Hon. Adrian Piccoli
- Premier of NSW
Please do not allow the sale of Lot 60 Beech Drive by the NSW Dept of Education. It is the ONLY open green space in all of Suffolk Park. Please allow the land to remain in community hands. The area is populated by families. The land is used by Suffolk Park soccer club, people exercising and gardening and by hundreds of children playing there daily. People have lived in the area for many years and no one had ever considered the possibility that this land could be sold out of community hands.
The community has treated it as their village green and has loved the space -- it is a hub where people congregate and connect; there is even a pop-up community garden and the children from the local preschool regularly visit to plant and learn.
If this land is sold and is no longer available to the community we, 5000 residents, will no longer have any green space anywhere in Suffolk Park.
Where will our children play?
PLEASE DO NOT PROCEED WITH THIS LAND SALE.
