Yesterday (Sept 24) marked TWO milestones in the life of this petition: it's exactly one month ago that we put it up, and yesterday we crossed the 500-signature mark.
Thank you all so much for showing your support. I will shortly present the petition to Councillor Morley and to the TRCA.
Submitting the petition of course is an important step, but it doesn't end there. I will keep you updated, and if it seems that the City or the TRCA are still not receptive to the petition's request to reconsider their choice of construction access route, I will tell you, and then you can tell them that they really should be.
It's still the case that most park users and neighbours don't yet know about the project and the impacts that the proposed access route could have on the trees, the wildlife, and their own enjoyment of the park. If each of you could speak to just one other person to tell them about this situation, and if they're concerned, to direct them to the petition... that would be really helpful.
Again, thank you for your support!
