No Child Left Behind has been a disaster for our public schools.  From lack of funding to a curriculum that has been aimed more at getting to pass the standardized than actual teaching, the NCLB Act has been a flop.  Some, mostly initial proponents of the Act, have stated that NCLB should be reautorized and that what ails it can be cured via alterations to the Act.  That is a farce.  What ails NCLB is that it is Federalization of our public schools aimed at creating test takers and not intelects.  The Act needs to die.
