The Chevening Scholarships are fully-funded, prestigious scholarships for aspiring leaders who wish to complete their Master's degree in the UK. Although the deadline was noon GMT (5.30 pm IST) on November 7, 2023, the website started crashing two days before. From 30 minutes before the deadline, the website was completely down.

The Chevening Scholarship is a life-changing opportunity for many applicants. It requires four meticulously prepared essays based on which applicants are shortlisted. Applicants put a lot of heart, soul, and hours of work into writing successful essays. However, due to the website crash, many applicants needed help to submit their applications.

This petition appeals to the Chevening Committee to consider the applicants waiting for this great opportunity and not penalize them for the website crash for which they are not responsible. The awards team is pleased that this is an international program, receiving tens of thousands of applications worldwide. For the same reason, the website crash happened, and why should the applicants bear the pain of it? Please open the application one last time to allow applicants to submit their applications. To avoid a crash, different times may be announced for different time zones.
