Belper Independents plan and subsequent motion to Belper Town council to register parts of the Ada Belfield as an asset of community value has been at least partially accepted.
The motion was:
5904 TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING MOTION PROPOSED BY CLLR B BELLAMY
"This Council instructs the Clerk to apply to register Belper's Ada Belfield Care Home as anAsset of Community Value with Amber Valley Borough Council”
Councillor B Bellamy gave an overview of the process to register the Ada Belfield Care Home as an Asset of Community Value.
An amendment to the above Motion was made and it was; RESOLVED that this Council instructs the Clerk to apply to register Belper's Ada Belfield Care Home and Library as an Asset of Community Value with Amber Valley Borough Council. In parallel, to make separate applications to register as Assets of Community Value the following;
1. Care Home
2. Ada Belfield Café
3. The Changing Places Toilet
4. The canteen which serves both the café and the care home
5. The foyer between the library, café and care home
Whilst the care home itself is not listed, according to the asset list on Amber Valley Website, the library, cafe, changing places toilet and importantly the kitchen - canteen (which is shared between the cafe and care home) appears to be, although I am seeking clarification on this.
