Don't Let Santa Claus Lane & Beach Go to Pot!

The Issue

The County is trying to approve a permit for a Cannabis Store on 3823 Santa Claus Lane, which will be the only cannabis store between downtown Santa Barbara and Oxnard! This will bring much more traffic and parking issues to the small congested lane that already has problems, especially on weekends and peak beach hours when folks can't find a parking spot to go to the beach. The permit will go permanently with the land and cannot be reversed no matter how bad the consequences. Almost 100% of the businesses and residents on and around Santa Claus Lane are strongly opposed to putting a cannabis store in this family-friendly beach community with two surf camps and family restaurants. The County Supervisors want it for the tax dollars $$, and they don't even live near here. Both the fact that the store is proposed to be open until 10:00pm (after all other shops and restaurants on the lane are closed) and its location next to a freeway onramp will make it an easy target for thefts and crime. The idea of a cannabis store in their neighborhood was quickly rejected by the towns of Montecito and Carpinteria, so the County is desperate to dump it here in this little Unincorporated community with no political platform or voice. You are our only voice! If you think Santa Claus Lane is a poor location for an adult-only highly-trafficked cannabis store, then please sign the petition and let the County (and ultimately the Coastal Commission) know. Thank you!  - Neighbors of Santa Claus Lane

Note: Please only sign if you are living in the area! (including Carpinteria, Summerland, Montecito and Santa Barbara). Thank You!
