We, bachelor nation, are coming together to request that ABC/Warner Brothers/NZK stop Greg Grippo from becoming the next Bachelor. As women who watch this show and have for many years (some of us from the very beginning) we were upset by watching what happened between Greg and Katie on screen. If he is made the bachelor, the franchise will be publicly validating that emotional manipulation is love, and that we are allowed to spill our unresolved trauma on our intimate partners. It would be a major set back for the gender based violence movement and a stain on the franchise’s already sordid history. Additionally, the many stories coming out regarding women who have been emotionally and physically abused by Greg Grippo in the past only lend to the importance of keeping this man out of any and all positions of power and high esteem. We wish him well and hope he gets the trauma and mental health support that he needs so he is able to treat future partners with respect and real love, but he is not in that place yet. If Greg Grippo is made the next lead, we will stop watching.
