Petition updateDon't let EQUIFAX escape liability!Equifax moves to invalidate claims to reduce liability! ACT NOW!

In an effort to drastically reduce the number of qualified claimants and reduce liability, the Equifax Breach Settlement Administrator has begun notifying hundreds of thousands of claimants that they must provide additional validation of their claims before October 15 or be automatically denied and completely forfeit all aspects of their claim. The email and additional validation also requires that you repeatedly acknowledge the amount of money you receive "may be a small percentage of your initial claim" and strongly encourages you to abandon your financial claim and instead switch to credit monitoring for compensation.

Bear in mind this settlement has not even been approved by the court overseeing it, and isn't even scheduled to be reviewed by the presiding judge until January 2020! It seems obvious the emails requiring claim 'validations' so early in the process are A BLATANT ATTEMPT TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF CLAIMANTS AND LIABILITY FOR COMPENSATION - DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN!

With nearly 140,000 new supporters over the last month, this petition is clearly drawing the attention of Equifax and the Equifax Breach Administrator as they realize the distinct possibility exists that we'll collect enough signatures to force this settlement to be dismissed and a better deal for American Consumers to be negotiated. We CAN and MUST stand up for our rights and show not only Corporate America but our government officials that we DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY for crimes against the citizens of our country!

Remember, the $575 million total value of this proposed settlement may seem like a lot of money to us, but it's a paltry portion of Equifax's total revenue - revenue made almost exclusively on the collection and sale of YOUR personal data which you have no option to control or stop and which they are trying to escape responsibility to protect. By contrast, Facebook was recently fined $5 BILLION for allowing others to access data you voluntarily provided (shopping habits, hobbies, education and other preferences), which is far less sensitive than the personal financial data Equifax released!

HELP ME DELIVER AT LEAST 500,000 SIGNATURES TO THE JUDGE PRESIDING OVER THIS CASE AND FORCE BETTER RESTITUTION FROM EQUIFAX WHILE SENDING A STRONG MESSAGE TO ALL THAT OUR DATA BELONGS TO US AND MUST BE PROTECTED!
