Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition so far. We now have over 1200 signatures!

It just goes to show the anger in the community. Our protest and our petition have gotten a lot of attention and pressure on Woolies!

LM Clover Moore has written to Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci asking him to reverse the decision. MP Ron Hoenig has also contacted Woolies and they tell us a public 'consultation' is coming.

We have had some great support and media coverage. 2GB have covered it twice here and here as well as the SMH here. Great story from Channel 7 here. A Current Affair is also making enquiries.

Thanks also to our local resident groups for their assistance.

Friends of Erskineville have created a template letter to Brad Banducci you can send here. Nearly 350 have been sent so far!

And now Alexandria Residents Action Group are organising a public meeting and have invited Brad Banducci and the media to attend.

The meeting will take place at Alexandria Town Hall, 73 Garden St Alexandria, on Wednesday 13 September at 7pm.

Please RSVP on the Facebook event here. We need a good crowd to get the media to show up and send a strong message to Woolworths.

Their decision may have already been made, their conversion may have already begun but the point of continuing this protest is to let them and everyone know "we see what you are doing, we are calling you out!". Moving to a higher cost store, especially in these economic times is not acceptable. Alexandria and surrounding suburbs deserve better!

With gratitude,

ARAGS (Alexandria Resident Action Group)

Friends of Erskineville

Andrew
