Since our last update, our campaign has gathered incredible momentum — now over 1,400 signatures and still climbing. Your support, messages, and shares have been read by our educators at KU.

We’ve gained traction with local news, with stories and lots of engagement:

• A Current Affair shining a spotlight on Willoughby Council’s decision to evict KU Chatswood Community Preschool.
• Willoughby Living featuring our cause as our petition hit 1,000 signatures
• North Shore Lorikeet questioning Council's own decision making

This coverage is helping to make our cause visible far beyond Chatswood, and it’s showing decision-makers that the public is watching.

But this issue is bigger than one preschool. The events at 7 Victor Street are a symptom of a deeper problem in the early childhood sector — one where short-term revenue motives are prioritised over community needs and quality education. We urgently need reform to protect not-for-profit preschools, strengthen transparency, and ensure that every child has access to safe, high-quality, affordable early learning.
