DON'T CHOOSE TO ABUSE ANIMALS

DON'T CHOOSE TO ABUSE ANIMALS
Why this petition matters
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society, or PAWS, is advocating for a law prohibiting animal abuse, and some celebrities are supporting their cause. The PAWS has asked the Senate to impose harsh sanctions on those who abuse animals since the Animal Welfare Act, which carries a sentence of only six months to two years in prison or a fine of one thousand - or up to five thousand pesos - is insufficient. Their appeal to the Senate for six years and one day in prison, twelve years in prison, and at least one hundred thousand dollars in fines.
We humans in this world are oblivious to animal abuse and simply ignore it. Whether by apathy or by legislation. Animal cruelty can manifest itself in a variety of ways, but the end result is always the same. Pain, fear, and despair are felt by a sensible animal capable of loving and forming social bonds and it has to come to an end.
Most of the time, the individual who acts animal cruelty does not consider it an immoral act. He or she may be able to rationalize the action in a variety of ways. Let's take a look at some of the most popular reasons. Animal cruelty arises when we all look at animals the same way. The animal is merely a tool or a technology. People who abuse animals might disassociate themselves from the beings they harm, making it appear as if they are not doing anything wrong.
Speak up for voiceless animals and stop animal cruelty by helping us file cases vs animal offenders. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it.
