Few articles tend to blame immigrants for drought and for not helping in the battle against the California severe drought due to lack of education and other reasons.  The truth is that immigrants can actually help save water because:

1. Many immigrants come from countries where water is scarce and have actually mastered the techniques of conserving water;

2. Immigrants are here to help and can actually be educated to apply their knowledge not only how to conserve water but also how to reduce consumption of water; and

3. California is populated by a huge immigrant population. If they are trained about how to conserve water, it can actually result in conservation of millions of gallons of water.

As such we have started this petition first to stop the blame of water shortage on immigrants and to ask the government to seek the help of immigrants to save water.  We encourage the government to brainstorm with immigrants about ideas how to preserve and create new ways to create consumable water such as desalinization.

We encourage all the immigrants to sign this petition to show support in reducing the consumption of  water and conserve California water reserves.
