Pizza Delivery is not an Essential Bussiness During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Pizza Delivery is not an Essential Bussiness During the Covid-19 Pandemic
The Issue
Starting March 24th at midnight Michigan has decided on a Stay Home order which means only essential workers are allowed to work until April 13th. Given this order, Dominos pizza along with many other non essential businesses have decided to stay open while many other restaurants closed their doors. Not only is this a danger to the people of the community but it’s also a danger to the workers and their families as well. Employees are not receiving hazard pay and carry out orders are putting them and their families in harms way. Even with more measures put in place, carry out orders are still being made, which do not follow the guidelines of 6 feet of separation.
I and other workers are scared about our families health and especially those of us who are in constant contact with family members with cancer and those in nursing homes. Franchise owners should be ashamed that they will risk their workers families dying over profits. We will not stand for this immoral behavior!
Pizza delivery/carry out is not an essential business to maintain a working community, and its presence is a threat to the well being of the community and it’s workers at this time. Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer has decided on measures to slow the spread of Covid-19 to prevent our hospitals from being overcome by the influx of new patients. Any business that is not essential and is determined to stay open are not only adding to the problem, but also stating that their money is more important than the health and well being of their employees. AMERICAN WORKERS ARE NOT EXPENDABLE!
By signing this petition you agree that Dominos and other businesses must start paying hazard pay for their employees and enforce stricter measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 or face public pressure (boycott) to shut down until at least April 13th 2020.
