My friend Mary Atchison was murdered by her boyfriend eight years ago in San Francisco. He, Jules Shibilo,  has been in the county jail ever since. It has yet to go to trial. She had over a hundred bruises in different stages of healing and the autopsy showed he kicked her so hard one last time in the abdomen after she passed that it left an impression of his boot on her.

She was a kind person. Had a variety of friends that loved her for humor, kindness, belly laugh, creative nature, love of science, etc. Her biggest flaw was loving her killer. 

In eight years, we have heard all sorts of reasons for the delay: covid, sick attorneys, back up of cases, new attorneys, etc. We are seeking justice for our friend. We hope her story may give another victim of DV the courage to leave before it's too late. Most importantly we want him to take responsibility for her death. To take responsibility for removing a peaceful soul from this world.
