November 2022 1:09am my companion animal and I were on our front porch starting out on our routine walk. As my dog and began to walk down our front steps a drunk tresspasser startked me and my dog. The drunk tresspassimg man claimed days later to authorities  that my dog bit him. Of which my dog did not do. My dog remained calm and only snarled in a matter of seconds my dog and I were back inside our home away from the drunk tresspasser.  The municiple judge was bias and deemed my dog vicious and continues to hold my dog at a  county shelter. (* not in the county my dog and I live.)The cruelty shown towards my beloved companion animal by the unfair legal system i feel is inhumane. Dogs are considered property in the eyes of the law therefore a dog being a living being isn’t considered and dogs are shown no compassion.
  I feel the  dangerous dog hearing was unjust. Currently my dog has been confined to a cage since November 2022 awaiting court dates. After the municiple court deemed my dog vicious as dismissing the facts of the case my attorney filed a motion to appeal. Due to laws pertaining to alleged dangerous/vicious dogs, dogs are confined to cages in over crowded shelters Alleged dangerous dogs are treated differently and not shown the care they deserve.  
. Due to lack of training and under staff at the shelter my dog is being held  the staff at the shelter are giving my dog high dosages of an anti anxiety medication. If my dog was given the opportunity to exercise any behavior the staff view unfavorable by my dog would subside and my dogs mental health would improve and his behavior would become manageable. Medicatiom of this kind given to dogs to suppress energy seems abusive. My dog isn’t given the opportunity to exercise. He is scared lonely depressed and isolated. He’s shown no love by the staff at the shelter the staff have expressed fear of my dog  and they’ve shown their ignorance of knowledge in dog behavior. My dog was taken from my home abruptly he was scared and confused and he had no idea  of any wrong doing he was being accused of. At that time in November 2022 I was not given the opportunity to assist in properly transporting my dog to a facility of my choice of which is my legal right. The manner of which my dog was transported was inhumane. He was placed in a wild animal cage in the back of a pick up truck the weather conditions were not something he was familiar with considering he is a house dog and had never been exposed to inclement weather that being freezing temperature. It was was then he was transported by authorities 30 miles away from our home he was in the back of a pick up truck enduring cold temperature. My dog has very thin coat of fur and was not accustomed to the type of elements he was forced to endure. In my state it is illegal for a dog to ride in the back of a pick up but authorities are allowed to abuse animals as they see fit and my innocent animal companion shown abuse and his well being dismissed as if his life wasn’t valued at all.
At that time in November 2022 I wasn’t allowed to know the whereabouts of my dog nor was I allowed to furnish him with any familiar items food,toys, blanket etc... It was December 2022 after persistently contacting the authorities who seized mr dog it was then I received the place of which my dog is being held prisoner. 

Dogs are  being deemed dangerous by people who aren’t trained /educated in animal behavior. . Dogs do not suppress energy as humans do therefore a dog confined to a cage 24/7 has no way of expelling energy other than acting in ways an untrained human in dog behavior might perceive the dog to be unimaginable - displaced energy.
I’m asking for signatures to help speed the process of my dogs release back to my care. To bring him home where he belongs. My beloved companion animal and other dogs potentially exerpetiancing this same or similar inhumane treatment. from the unfair laws of “dangerous dog” Animal law and animal rights are not structured to protect animals from humans who lie to animal control about these type of situations. Any person can make false statements to authorities placing innocent animals in confinement awaiting long court cases to be determined regarding an alleged dangerous dogs fate. Plesse sign this petition to save my companion animalls well being and future. My dog belongs at home with me, his loving and devoted guardian.
