Do NOT rezone 510 Swan St Richmond 3121

The issue

The current Victorian State Government is seeking to rezone an existing public park and recreation zone (a thriving netball and tennis centre) at 510 Swan St Richmond Victoria 3121 into a commercial zone in order to build large scale, high rise (10 storey) flats. This development will take away a much loved and invaluable sporting precinct from the local neighbourhood, thereby impacting on the health, wellbeing and physical education of hundreds of people. Also as the population of Richmond and Burnley increases by the 1000s, with more and more families moving to the area, we will be permanently deprived of this necessary open space and social hub. The overall historical aesthetic of the neighbourhood (period homes with heritage overlays, single/double storey small businesses) will also be irreversibly marred. Please sign and share the petition to convince the government to preserve this asset!
