The United States has temporarily eased sanctions on Russian oil, allowing countries to purchase shipments already at sea.

European leaders warn that easing sanctions risks strengthening Russia’s war machine in Ukraine. Russian officials have publicly welcomed the move and are calling for further relief.

Sanctions were imposed for a reason: to limit the Kremlin’s ability to finance its invasion of Ukraine.

Energy prices are rising amid the war with Iran — but solving one crisis should not mean underwriting another. Stability in global markets cannot come at the cost of empowering aggression.

We call on the Trump administration to immediately reinstate full sanctions on Russian oil exports and reaffirm America’s commitment to economic pressure on the Kremlin.
