It has recently been announced that the lta are submitting an application to sport England to take pickleball under their umbrella. 

There is already a Pickleball England and Pickleball Scotland organisation setup which has successfully built the game over several years in the UK while the lta had no interest in the sport. Pickleball needs a separate governing body.

Pickleball is not a version of tennis rather its own sport and needs to be treated as such, which includes ideally not taking tennis facilities or resources which would anger a lot of tennis players. I would believe that not only will the lta running pickleball be bad for the game of pickleball but also it will be bad for tennis as well. I believe a lot of tennis players do not want the lta to take it over either, with multiple clubs committee and board voting against having pickleball because the tennis players do not want to lose courts or have extra lines on their courts.

An example I gave for people who don't understand these sports is that if the lta (lawn tennis association) were to run pickleball, it would be the same as Basketball England running Netball. It makes no sense, despite similarities in the sports.
