The talking point we are going to have the news broadcast is “Way more damage done by unjustifiably cutting people off than any amount of $ lost to fraud could ever do.”  Money is inanimate.  Single mothers behind on rent and having to pay a $1000 electric bill in a couple weeks are not.  Anguish, stress, added on during our most challenging time.  

“For what?” is what will ask those that support he current PUA policy. That’s going to be the byline of the media campaign. We will hammer home the folly of fear of fraud to needlessly injure the people you are entrusted to take care of.  The people will live it because we are the people.   We will preach to willing ears and nodding heads of ordinary folks about getting fucked over by DLIR. 

If you’re not down with that program, because I will ask for an interview,  Start formulating your excuses, justifications, and blame for that question if you choose not to side with the people.  Prepare to Explain how the impacts of loss of money due to fraud is way more important and devastating than having tens of thousands of good people wrongfully denied for months anxious, suffering, suicidal.  

Does anyone have the guts to be the people’s champ and come out in support of the screwed over and call out the DLIR publicly?  Prob wouldn’t even need to.  Just the admin knowing that you PLAN to do that might be enough to shake them up and out of that rut they are needlessly in.  But I can only aspire for you gentleman and gentlewoman to have the capacity and empathy for the people that taking that unpopular position requires.

This doesn’t have to be about DLIR being wrong.  It’s about them having the ability to pivot as the pandemic extended and change course adjusting to rapidly developing economic conditions.  In order to increase the effectiveness of economic stimuli and get it injected as quickly as possible, it was decided to change all pendings immediately back to being active in the interest of the public good while DLIR was free then to investigate all the fraud they like.

And that’s the truth.  As a sailor, I swear and tell the truth excessively.  And for that I am unapologetic.

PS.  I humbly ask for an email from each of you on what side of the fraud issue you are on.  Did the fraud prevented justify the human pain?
