I had a one month old kitten that I adopted from a friend and took great care of it. One day, I came back from going out and found my kitten lying limp in its usual place to rest and found vomit around the area.

I tried taking my kitten to a large hospital/clinic but the ones I contacted refused to take him, saying that it was nearing closing time or that it was closed and there were no emergency/24 hour services available (most of these places used the excuse that during the pandemic the service is terminated).

I then took my kitten to a 24-hour clinic in North Jakarta, which at the time, seemed to be the only option. There, he was given injections and an IV by the vet and I was told to take my kitty home.

Two hours after I got home, my kitten went to Heaven. It would be better if animals that are in critical condition are treated and handled by doctors, rather than being told to take them home because of an adequate clinic, unavailable doctors or for other reasons.

I invite all my friends, animal lovers or living creatures, to sign this petition. I'm asking the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health of the Indonesian Agriculture Ministry and the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association to provide emergency 24 hour service for animals during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Because animals, just like humans, are also living beings who need help when they are sick. Let's bring that sense of awareness by re-establishing a 24-hour facility for veterinarians to be able to provide proper assistance when our furry friends are in need.
