The Sussex County Engineering Department, with technical support from Van Cleef Engineering, has announced that the temporary traffic lights will be removed in approximately 3 to 4 weeks. At that time, two-way traffic will be restored to its original configuration. As part of this phase, the County will install new metal guardrails and concrete jersey barriers to improve safety.

To complete this work, the section of CR 521 between Stone Bridge Road and Main Street will be fully closed for about 3 to 4 weeks.

The County Engineers are working thoughtfully to transition into the next phase of the project. Given the number of agencies involved, the full reconstruction effort is expected to take up to five years and is currently still in the design and engineering stage.

We are especially grateful to the Sussex County Commissioners, who played a key role in securing the necessary funding for this interim project. Without their support—and the continued involvement of residents like you—this progress would not have been possible.

Thank you all for your engagement. We will continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available.
