Dear supporters, Thanks to everyone who has signed on and shared our petition calling on the Darwin Festival to drop its Santos Opening Night event sponsorship over the company's plans to frack for shale gas across the Territory. As fracking companies set their sites on the NT, with more than 90% of the landmass currently under application for unconventional gas exploration, now is a critical time to be calling on all our important public institutions including arts and cultural events to divest or reject sponsorship from companies that trade in dirty fossil fuels and fracked gas. As a result of the attention on Santos this week the iconic Alice Springs Beanie Festival announced they have said no to a sponsorship deal from Santos for this year's event! Your support can help shine a light on Santos' fracking plans in Central Australia, the Barkly Tablelands and Gulf region and stop fracking approvals before these reckless companies risk permanently contaminating our groundwater, poisoning our climate and the health of people and planet.
