This morning, the nominations for this year’s Academy Awards were announced and to everybody’s surprise…, the Crash of 2024, the Netflix movie, Emilia Pérez nabbed 13 nominations including Best Picture and whatever, the same number of nominations that actual good movies like Mary Poppins and Oppenheimer nabbed in the past.

 

and honestly, this is absolute bullcrap on the Academy’s part, for giving this a Best Picture nomination over The Wild Robot, as that film was NOT woke or used AI in that film(because it was universally entertaining and beloved by millions), as Emilia Pérez met with a ton of controversy over its portrayal of Mexico not being that good, its bad portrayal of transgender people and the LGBTQ+ community, it reportedly used artificial intelligence for the actors voices(which fellow nominee Wicked Part One did NOT), and just failed miserably at being a musical(not as bad as that other musical that flopped miserably that rightfully deserved all of its Razzie nominations)

 

For the nominations that Emilia Pérez, I’d(and many others) would revoke ALL 13 nominations so the Academy wouldn’t be like the Golden Globes, where it would piss millions off and instead nominate the following in Emilia’s place:

Best Picture: The Wild Robot

Best Director: Jon M. Chu for Wicked

Best Actress in a Leading Role: Zendaya for Challengers

Best Supporting Actress: Margaret Qualley

Best Original Score: Challengers

Best Original Song: Kiss the Sky(from The Wild Robot) & Piece by Piece

Best Adapter Screenplay: Wicked Part One

Best Makeup & Hairstyling: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Best International Feature: Canada, “Universal Language”

Best Sound: “Deadpool & Wolverine”

Best Cinematography: Wicked

Best Film Editing: Dune Part Two
