As the youth of South Africa, infact South Africa as a whole we don’t like the new law of men taking their wives surnames, as it’s not favoring us in any way& that the government should stop wanting to enforce western way of doing things in our country because it’s wiping our traditions away.

The country could be focusing on important issues that are happening in South Africa, like making sure that the unemployment rate decreases, the GBV victims get justice, right now there are white people from outside and Israel’s wanting to start a country of their own in our country “Cape Independence” , there are so many things I can count, yet the government chooses unnecessary things and make laws about them & I’m sure this was not voted in parliament or the traditional people were not consulted at all about this.

We want change as South Africans not things that will invite problems. It saddens me that we as South Africans have to fight for important issues through petitions because the government turns a blind eye to literally everything that will benefit this country, but on things that will favor the outsiders they promote them.
