Disney: Please Make A Lesbian Princess And A Gay Prince

Disney: Please Make A Lesbian Princess And A Gay Prince
The issue
The world is finally becoming more accepting and open-minded, thankfully. We've gotten Tiana, an amazing black princess, but there's something deeper than skin colour, called love. Children need role models that they can look up to and say, "I want to be like that person." Now that Merinda from Brave has given young girls a strong role model to look up to, I think it's time to give LGBT children a chance to be able to say, "There are people like me in Disney movies." Although some people do not find out their sexuality until later on in life some people figure it out at a very young age. If young people knew that there's more than one way to be a girl and more than one way to be a guy, it will help them figure out who they are and be accepting to themselves as well as others around them.
Disney has been setting standards for young girls and boys since the first Disney princess movie came out. As times have changed, what it means to grow up has changed, and we think Disney should reflect that.
Seeing a same sex couple will not automatically encourage children to be gay, it will only let them know that some people are gay, and that doesn't make them any less or more of a person. That we all are equal, and no matter what gender everyone has a chance of finding their prince or princess, the love of their life. For love is love.
