Save Pirates of the Caribbean Online! Don't let this be the end, keep it alive in some form

The Issue

Pirates of the Caribbean is a very good game that has been a fantastic diversion and even a lifeline for many people, and it can't be allowed to just disappear and be forgotten!   This game has been running for nearly six years, and there is nothing else on the market that has it's combination of action, community, and charm. Thousands of people across the world have had countless, happy hours of adventure with their friends and many still do today.   It is a mistake for Disney to close this game, as it is not only a great source of income, but also a way to keep the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise alive in people's minds between movies. I petition Disney to reconsider closing this unique and memorable game on September 19th 2013, on "Talk like a pirate day" of all days. And even if it is too late for them to stop the closings, we ask that they at least keep the game's sever software and account information, and consider reopening it someday, or even release these programs to the public so they may host their own servers.   I also petition all of you, this game's loyal community, to do whatever we can to keep this game alive and relevant. Even if the game does close, we should do what we can to create server emulators, private servers, or anything else that we can do so that this game can sail off into the sunset naturally and not be sunk while it still has wind in its sails!     Please, if you have ever enjoyed this game or loved our little world in the Caribbean, please sign this petition for old-times' sake. Even if Disney does close the game, lets follow in the example of Captain Jack Sparrow, and even as the Kraken's jaws close in around us, let's go down swinging! If nothing else, may this petition stand a memorial to our love for this game, and to all of the happy memories it has given us all.     Do what you can... my pirate brethren... and hold nothing back!     --Aaron Reaper
