Dismiss Mrs. Leeman from Teaching AP Human Geography

Dismiss Mrs. Leeman from Teaching AP Human Geography
The Issue
Many of us have felt the frustration of sitting in Mrs. Leeman's AP Human Geography class, where it seems we are not learning anything beneficial. Instead of engaging, enriching lessons, we're greeted by her simply reading slideshow presentations that other teachers have created. This doesn't promote understanding or interest in the topic - it just leaves us feeling cheated out of a quality educational experience.
Furthermore, Mrs. Leeman's classroom environment is less than ideal. She herself seems allergic to any form of fun or class activities which aren't strictly academic, making the classroom atmosphere heavy and uninviting. But what's more troubling, and personal, is the allegation that she appears to favor certain students, an attitude that strays far from the professional behavior expected from teachers.
This isn't just about personal grievances. Studies show that a quality teacher contributes significantly to student success, even more than additional school resources. According to a report from the Sutton Trust, a non-profit foundation committed to improving social mobility, teacher professionalism and competence are among the most influential factors in student achievement (Sutton Trust, 2014).
Therefore, we request that the school board take these complaints into consideration and dismiss Mrs. Leeman from teaching AP Human Geography. We deserve an education that is informative and inspiring, not monotonous and partial. Please, sign this petition to advocate for a better quality of learning in our school.
